“My Grandmother’s Hands”
Gouache on watercolor paper, 7in x 10in. I took a photograph in high school of my Tita’s hands and the pomegranate she picked from her garden. I joked that it was the “abuelita’s version of the Twilight book cover.”
Community Art Teacher
I am an local art teacher that provides personalized art classes to the community of San Tan Valley. I am a big fan of art history and have taught students of all ages how to recreate their own Van Gogh ‘Sunflowers’.
“Marissa’s Sunflowers”
Acrylic on 12”x 16” canvas. I was commissioned to paint sunflowers in a vase, maintaining the motifs of the Scared Heart, a one year anniversary for a friend.
Brand redesign for Painting Wonderland
I volunteered my graphic design skills to redesign a local art studio that I teach art at. I created a brand new mascot, “Mingo” the flamingo for them that included a paintbrush. Keeping the typefaces fresh, whimsical and inviting.
“5am walk”
Gouache on watercolor paper. Plein air painting of a house, focusing on the 5 am shadows.
